RETIRED CAPT. GENE GUTHRIE, USNR, sits with his daughter and grandchildren, Cady and Colin, in his Kirkland home. The family is unique in that not only are father and daughter members of the PBY Memorial Foundation, but Cady, 7, saved up $25 of her own money to join. "As a family, we feel it's important to leave a living history of the PBY Catalina's many contributions to victory in the Pacific in World War II" Guthrie said. The group welcomes veterans, active duty men and women and interested organizations to join them at their monthly no-host luncheons every fourth Tuesday at 11:30 at Henderson's on Pioneer Way in Oak Harbor.
